A little care here protects your refund, and it takes about two minutes.
The short version: send it back the way it came to you.
Three easy steps
1. Use the original box if you still have it. Our shipping boxes are sturdy and sized for the product, and they're built to make the trip twice — almost all of our customers send their return back in the same box it arrived in. If you no longer have it, choose a box the item fits into comfortably, without being folded, bent or forced, and add a little padding so it can't move around inside. Please don't use a poly mailer or a padded envelope for a bag.
2. Pack it exactly as it reached you. Same dust bag, same wrapping and filler paper, everything back where it sat inside the box, and the tags still attached. We're sticklers about this one, and it's the quickest way to make sure your return sails through inspection.
3. Seal it, label it, and drop it off. Attach your return label to the outside, and remove or cover any old shipping labels so the carrier isn't working from two sets of instructions. Then hand it in at any authorized drop-off location.
Why it matters
Folding or compressing an item to squeeze it into a box that's too small will damage it, and an item that arrives crushed or misshapen can't be passed on to the next customer as new.
We inspect every return when it arrives. If an item needs reshaping or refurbishment before it can be sold again, a refurbishment fee of US$35 is deducted from the refund, in addition to the standard restocking fee. If an item can't be brought back to sellable condition at all, we may not be able to refund it.
In either case we reach out to you before processing anything, and we're glad to share photographs of how the item reached us.
Nearly every return arrives in good shape and none of this comes up. If you no longer have the original box, it's worth taking an extra minute to find one that's right for the item.
